Fall 2025 LectureInstruction in basic principles of behavior; factors determining normal and abnormal behavior; and the different types of learning. The main domestic species will be characterized in terms of their normal behavior with which behavior problems are most important in the different species.
Learning Outcomes1Apply the principles of learning to behavior analysis and modification.
2Characterize the domestic species in terms of their normal behavior.
3Identify environmental factors contributing to abnormal behavior and compromising their welfare.
4Utilize knowledge on behavioral development and environmental and management effects on behavior for problem prevention and strengthening the human-animal bond.
