This course will cover management of hospitalized patients, client education, and preventative medicine programs. Emphasis will be on the role of the veterinary technician in the veterinary hospital.

Learning Outcomes

1Describe basic information about small animal medicine conditions to clients.

2Educate clients regarding preventative small animal medicine.

3Utilize knowledge of small animal medical conditions to provide nursing care to patients.

4Utilize knowledge of small animal medical conditions to anticipate DVM needs for diagnosis and treatment of hospitalized patients.
