Fall 2025 Laboratory Lecture Distance Learning Departmental CreditLower DivisionFundamental electrical parameters and measurement techniques are introduced. These are then applied to implementing power interfaces, actuators and sensors. Modules that provide signal conditioning, data conversion, filtering and controllers are evaluated. A full, closed loop control system is built and evaluated.
Learning Outcomes1Make laboratory measurements using digital multi-meters, oscilloscopes, and a microcomputer.
2Implement and evaluate the performance of each of the following elements at the module level while calculating key circuit parameters: Switching and linear power interfaces; Light, sound, motion, and temperature actuators and sensors; Amplifiers, signal conversion, and filters. On/off, linear, and computer controllers.
3Evaluate the static and the dynamic performance of a closed loop system constructed of the elements from items 1 and 2 above.
