This course introduces students to aspects of not-for-profit management identified as keys by leaders in existing agencies. Students will prepare themselves for specifically establishing, building, working in and leading not-for-profit organizations.

Learning Outcomes

1Demonstrate knowledge, comprehension, analysis and application supporting competence in the defining features of nonprofit management by interactively thinking critically and creatively to develop a board of directors; design a strategic plan; write a corresponding operations plan; diagram an evaluation logic model; prepare a budget; making a fund raising ask; write a fund raising letter; write a grant proposal; write a press release; and make oral presentations.

2Demonstrate knowledge, comprehension, application, analysis and synthesis by interactively solving an administrative problem in a nonprofit agency case study and presenting the solution.
